Its more fuzzy and rough around the edges and less dad rock than the past few Wilco albums, so I was glad to hear that.

The best thing about it for me thus far is that it made me go back to Being There and listen to it a couple of times over the weekend.

I went through it once after the d/l, and when the album was over I sorta went "huh... I guess the album is over." I couldn't remember a note of it. That's not a good sign for me.

My reaction was fairly similar. I didn't hate it, but nothing really stood out, either.

Yeah exactly. At no point was I annoyed, but then at no point was I particularly entertained. If a song can shake me out of my Excel fog and take notice, then it's a good song. None of these managed it. Maybe it was my fault.

don't blame yourself capn. wilco isn't responsible for your happiness. we are all stewards of our own void. it made be hard at first, but once you start bringing yourself more fully into the relationship you'll start to see things change for the better.

Now the National, THAT is a band that seems to have made like 7 albums of the same sleepy song (to me). That's some boring shit. But Wilco is usually a living, breathing band. I remain a fan. But this album, I ran through it and it just vanished between my fingers. It dissipated like a fart in a strong breeze.
