Hi all,

It's been a long time since I frequented this board. I thought I'd turn to you all for some music recommendations. I'm a new mom & I'm looking for songs or albums that are great for infants or toddlers. I'm not necessarily looking for kid music but not opposed to it. Any thoughts? Any chill albums I could play early morning or at nap time?

Actually to get my son to go to sleep for the first nine months, we played a 1-min mp3 of vacuum cleaner noise really loud on a loop.

So maybe look into some Merzbow or Whitehouse.

Congratulations!
My first thought when it comes to kid music is The Ramones -- simple, melodic, and fun.
But, that's not chill for naptime. That's would be more for the toddler years.

So, chill music…

Brian Eno - Another Green World would be good for nap time. As would any of his ambient stuff.
The Roches did a children's album—Will You Be My Friend?— that is pretty good. But then, a lot of their stuff would probably fit the bill.

And, welcome to your new normal, where conversations about poop are suddenly common and totally normal and acceptable. You will start to sleep again, eventually.

What! elizastan? haqdiesel? What is this, 2004?

I do not know anything about new moms. I recommend that you listen to Jolie Holland, though.
