Some interesting links about how to obtain conscientious objector status if such a thing were to come to pass. The ridiculous bill that was introduced by that quack will never pass, but if we were to end up in other countries under a second Bush administration (like Syria, Iran, or wherever else they have designs on) it would be interesting to see what they'd do.

You couldn't just run away to Canada anymore, and it's tough to get political asylum in another country. The way to go is probably CO, and if you haven't already documented your anti-war feelings, you should start so as to build up a case against your needing to be drafted. I realize many of us are outside the window (18-29) for military service, but those who are should be concerned. And we all probably know someone who would be affected by it if it went into place.

What do you think the typical draft age would be?

Short of a huge, world-wide war, I don't think there will ever be another draft in this country. Too many people people, Dems and Republicans, would have a fit if their kids were drafted. The voters may be content to send our poor and minorities into Iraq, but would never stand for it if it was their own blood.
