Will Boston survive the Red Sox winning the World Series?

it'd be a real shame for them to win after being down 0-3 and lose after being up 3-0.

I'm def. cheering for the Sox but I think that's just a holdover from the last series where I was so happy that they beat the fukn Yankees. Plus, that curse has gotta go.

A lot of people I know are cheering for the Cards just because of local boy Larry Walker. to that i say, bah.

I think there's hope for Chicago fans if Boston pulls this off (which I hope they do). The Angels erased the woes of '82, '86 and '95 in '02 so if Boston takes care of business can Chicago be far behind? It's a trend I tell you!

Yes. They're just preparing for the ultimate collapse, becoming the second team in MLB to lose a seven-game series aftering going up three, nil. Plus, to think they would be on each end of such a scenario in the same postseason is... stellar.

I am not sure that I want anything more at this current time and place than for the Red Sox to win. There's just something about New England...I love the teams.

Go Patriots.

for as exciting as this postseason has been, except for the first game the world series has been pretty boring.

Monty is uncorrect. They will win and Stephen King's Red Sox book will sell millions. Pedro will be traded.

At the post-game press conference LaRussa said Oquendo was telling him "Go, Go, Go" but apparently he heard "No, No, No." He's a pitcher. They ain't right in the head anyway, nor particularly smart.

Full disclosure: Former catcher here.

Correction: I should have said "Pedro will not be with The Red Sox next year."

that'd be pretty messed up if he ended up going to the Yankees, which could very well happen.
they are his daddy, after all.

My wife said the same thing.
I was rooting for Boston form the get go.
Now I think I have to switch to the other underdog.

i read the best description (in the herald, of all places) of how many in boston feel right now. they said it's like being a parent watching your kid race motocross. it's wickedly exciting but you can't help but be scared that it's all going to go horribly wrong.

This thread makes me think of the possibility of Paul or Ringo dying.

(Has Tesco Vee changed the song to "Two down, Two to Go", by the way?)
