That board is so lame. They don't even post over there! Who's with me??

Apparantly someone over there considers this board a 'distracting wank-fest' or words to that effect. It sounded fussy anyway.

given the problems w/ the CMJ board, and how aaron set this place up to be as user-friendly and user-customizable as possible, I can't see why the majority wouldn't migrate here.

The best thing for the entire community is if everyone were to post in one place, but that's probably not going to happen.

I'm not trying to be a downer, but we have fragmented the entire community with the implementation of this board. Clearly, some CMJ people don't want to use this board. Some obner people don't want to go back to CMJ. I post in both places, but I don't repeat every post, so now my content is now split between two subcommunities. That last case is likely true for a lot of people.

I would like to see everyone over here. Clearly, CMJ's servers do not have the capability to keep their board functioning on a consistent basis. Almost every week it is down for a few hours. We will undoubtedly lose people in the process, but the can of worms is already open.

all the more reason for this place to exist.

I agree with this and brought it up on Darrin’s board, but people lambasted me for it.

Now we will have this problem but what can you do?

I love this new board though; it really will be for the best in the long run.

We should bring back the Whig party while we're at it.

Like I said before, I'm staying here. I hate this whole two-board nonsense. I haven't been back to the CMJ board since it went down last week and don't plan to return. Someone mentioned something about people putting up the same threads here and at the CMJ board. Now, that is just silly.

I agree with all of the above.

It's like this board is a nice brand new Ford GT50 and CMJ is a Kia Rio.

CMJ should just scrap their board and link to this or something.

i like this board as well (thank you oh great builders). sure i'll still post at cmj (these posts may take a strange turn...) ; but i feel pretty much at home here; i like being on the ground floor instead of people actually using my post number as a counter-argument against one of my ridiculous

seriously, the competition or controversy is petty and childish--we're all adults, we can post wherever and whenever we want and it really doesn't matter much more than that--if you (and you know who you are) are at all concerned, i implore you: please turn off your computer and go outside for like 5 minutes...

I will post at both boards, focusing most of my energy here.

I will also acknowledge that CMJ is more than the monthly magazine. Just because NMM might be going down the shitter doesn't mean they're scaling back the weekly mag or the marathon. Is it possible? Of course, but I don't think any of us know the scoop.

Now, we're all mature people here. There's no need to go invade the CMJ board and cause havoc.

I mean, if we wanted to, we could go over and delete all the threads we started or edit all our posts so that the thread discussions no longer made any sense and nothing was relevant to anything else.

But there's no need for any of that. 8)
