...Anastasio at the Barn in Vermont.

Should be very awesome, two highly skilled session musicians following the ideas Trey has. It will all depend on how much Trey sucks. I really think that he is for the most part terrible now, but if there's ever a chance to redeem yourself it's with an absolutely sick rhythm section.

I'm hoping for very tight compositional stuff and intense fuck jams.

Anybody else interested?

A bit of info is present on www.tonylevin.com

I really think Trey is beyond terrible. What comes after terrible? Horrible?

I don't know who these two other musicians are, but I'm not going to seek this out. I'm way more interested in whatever Mike Gordon's next move is, and that it involves Leo Kottke, as opposed to an encounter with tranny hooker, or somethin'.

how did i know you'd reply to this?

mike just announced four shows in the northeast with two very reputable guys that he's played with. benvenuti and russo. i don't know who they are, but they are great musicians and they'll be doing some of mike gordon's original tunes. tour dates are on phish.com, they might be very near montreal, like vermont.

yeah, trey totally sucks. i won't be buying this, but i might be downloading it or ripping someone who does. just to see.

Holy fuck, this is going to be the biggest WANK fest since, well never, except if these two records mated and had a baby:

come on; trey is horrible/terrible right now but he's still trey, right? dude just needs to straighten himself out...

as for this "project"; stuart may be right--wank-fest du jour; and cmanhattan you speak of decent ryhtm sections? Mike and Fish don't do it for ya Bubba?

Trey needs to go away, detox and right some silly songs with Tom Marshall.

And a fugue or two...

Organ Drum Duo (Benevento/Russo) are managed by a very good friend of mine. This is a very big break for them, and should get them a ton of exposure.

He's not 'still Trey'. Or, rather, he's the Trey that singlehandedly destroyed a band that was once THAT good, and responsible for such a good thing. He just killed it: forgot how to play, ceased to care enough to a write a good song. I shouldn't blame him as much as I do, but he and it faded so gracelessly.

Trey needs to relearn his shit before attempting a fugual resurgence.

it really wasn't...it's just all trey.

all trey all the time.

it's very clear why we wants to play in TAB...b/c he has all the control, he can solo as long as he wants and want have to compete with musicians who think they have equal footing with him.

basically, he can wank away all he wants.

now seeing 1994 Trey in front of a band like this, doing whatever he wants and playing amzingly would be different.

this is 2004 Trey, who just wanks and sucks. lame predictable solos. lame predidctable jams. no exploration, nothing cool at all. he doesn't give the horn section enough freedom. the basslines are too anchored and simple.

only interesting thing about TAB is ray paczkowski (sp) on keys...man is nuts.

basically it's all trey all the time how he wants to be now, which sucks.
