I even felt a twinge of joy when the last out was made.

I second that.

And I said the same thing to josh about kerry just now, just maybe next week this time Kerry will be in and Bush will be on the way out. oh my oh my.

Tonight's win was according to josh(a new hampshirite) "the best wedding present".

Can't have too much joy in Mudville, now can we?

I think that either way, this story will provide pundits with ample Kerry/RedSox metaphors.

If he wins "Just like his beloved Red Sox, Senator Kerry shook of the pallor of defeat from his campaign..."

If he loses "Unlike his beloved Red Sox, Senator Kerry was not able to conquer what he termed "The Evil Empire"

Its a wonder that I don't do this for a living.

A subdued series compared to the rest of the playoffs, but the goal was to sweep before the Cardinals bats came alive. Great job.

Watching Manny in the news conference, I just gotta say it doesn't matter how scruffy, absent-minded, eccentric or possibly borderline retarded you are, if you're Series MVP you still rate a smokin' wife. Youch.

I thought we were in trouble last night when Scott Stapp sung God Bless America. I almost shat myself. Thankfully his performance flattened the offenses of both teams.

I wonder if his buddy Brock Berlin was back stage to help him with the pre-show jitters? :wanker:

As a White Sox fan, I can't fathom what it must be like to have your team win a WS. I'll probably never know. Boston does have the second biggest payroll in the MLB, so this shouldn't be too out-of-the-blue... 86 years or not. They will become the new Yankees and everyone will soon hate them.

I don't think people can even comprehend what a big deal it is HERE- I am still not sure it happened.

I will say the roads and T were empty this AM

If the Cubs ever win one, believe me, it'll be HUGE. Believe me, we Chi-town Northsiders understand. (And I probably have to say the same for the Southsiders, although they won one almost 10 years more recently than the Cubbies  )

Anyhoo, this is how I feel this A.M., regarding the BoSox win:
:nugene:

Awwwwww yeah!

I was mulling it over a bit while on line for coffee and I think the point is that this win is far reaching beyond baseball. it's going to change the psyche of the city and has tremendous sociological significance.

also, we were at a friends house who went to game 2 and saw shilling pitch. crazy!

As I said on the other board, my father called me and told me to get in the rocket quickly so he could send me off to Krypton before the earth blows up.

Anyway, congrats Sox fans! I guess now the rest of us have a new evil empire that spends a lot of money to win the Series to hate.
