...the latest/last one is your favorite. Fiona Apple is the only one that comes to mind for me. |

B & S for me, too. I'll admit to not having heard all of their previous stuff, but I have heard "...Sinister" and "...Arab Strap" multiple times and parts of some of their others, and the new one blows the others away. Call me blasphemer if you must. |

Y'all are both blasphemers. Life Pursuit's not even in my top three. So clearly you're delusional. Either that or we have different tastes. But that seems a bit far-fetched. |

Before this year, I would have said Tool. Nowadays: Modest Mouse Lightning Bolt Low (though Things We Lost... almost take it) |

I'd probably pick this too; I love the debut a lot, but if pushed I'd think I'd go with LA Woman as my favourite. |

Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose Shrimp Boat - Cavale EDIT: Belle & Sebastian might be one, too - eventually. Although, as of now, I think If You're Feeling Sinister is #1, but barely. |

I can agree with a lot of albums listed...specifically Loretta Lynn, Modest Mouse, B&S, New Pornographers and even Spoon. My submission which I'm sure I'll get some shit for: RHCP-Stadium Arcadium. |

Hasn't Loretta Lynn released like 50 albums? The last New Pornographers is close for me, but I still like their debut better. |

The last New Pornographers is close for me, but I still like their debut better. i felt that way until a few months ago. debut & "twin cinema" are pretty close, the first is better for its raw energy, the second more for its refined collaborative sensibility. |

I tried to listen to this. If its their best, thats fine, but its so mind-numbingly bad, and...ordinary I like the single enough, and I gave the album 7 songs, but just couldnt do another one. |

And their second one (electric version) trumps them both, and most any other album released this century. Thank you, that is all. |

Sleater-Kinney. Depending on mood I could also go with Spoon. And, not sure how it's going to settle, but this new You Am I is DAMN good |
