Sooooo....

Andrew Card is speaking to some veterans in my town today and he does his spiel about how he was the one to break the news about 9/11 to Bush at that Florida elementary school and he goes on passionately and eloquently about Bush's appropriate composure and how the president didn't want to scare the children and was waiting for the okay to leave from the secret service, yadda, yadda. Card sounded like a fatherly preacher speaking to a Baptist church service.

Now, having seen the footage of Bush's reaction to the news, I see things completely differently. I saw a wahoo completely unprepared to suddenly have to be responsible. A stunned frat boy who sat there like an idiot.

However, the Chief of Staff's speech made for great soundbites for my newscasts.

Therefore I , once again, am a media whore, albeit a tiny one in the woods of northern Maine.

Another case of preaching to the converted... Those who saw Far. 9/11 will totally disagree with his take, but then, they most likely already despise Bush. Those who haven't seen Far. 9/11 most likely already believe Bush did "the right thing" (whatever that would have been.)

Don't feel too bad, FS. Although I'm sure your news broadcast has a powerful impact on listeners minds, I doubt it will sway Maine to the dark - er... the RED - side.
