oddly enough, I find this This is Hardcore to be far and above my favorite Pulp album.

i've been waking up to this is hardcore every day for a week and enjoying it very much so. all i wanted to do was hear "like a friend", but it sucked me in.

no, but it probably helped at some point. i think it's the general theme of the album that really gets me. It's like the songs aren't as varied in style and tempo as much as Different Class, which really allows a razor-keen edge to be honed into the bitter fondness and stale loneliness that is Hardcore
