Are there any fans here? I like what I hear. But I am sure they probably have zillion albums or something. Where should I start?

I'm pretty sure they only have two albums.

I loved 'The Optimist LP' when it came out and it was one of my favourite releases that year (2000? 2001?). I still occassionally stick it on today.

For some reason, their second album (don't even know it's name) completely passed me by. I believe they changed direction abit (the first album was mainly acoustic) and as a result it wasn't so successful. I've not heard it myself so I can't judge it but the general concensus is it's the weaker of the two releases.

I'm taking a long road for a short cut here, but I'd say you should pick up 'The Optimist LP' first. I'm sure you won't be disappointed in it.

I have a fairly lengthy list of "good artists I don't care that others think are wussy." Turin Brakes are on it.

The second album is called Ether Song. I'm like Darrin, I prefer the first one over the second one, but they're both great. They also put on a great show. I think the one thing that made me love them more is when I was talking to Olly(??) after a show, and he relayed a story about Dave Matthews seeing them play in Seattle. He apparently approached the guys, complimented them, told them how much he liked their music... and they had no idea who he was. Hooray!
