After an hour in line this morning starting at 7am I finally voted. You would think with today's technology they would have something more advanced than a guy thumbing through a roll book and checking your name off with a pencil and then having me vote with a black magic marker by filling in bubbles. Didn't they learn anything 4 years ago?

Is there anywhere on the net where they're posting the up to date results as they come in? MSNBC is doing it but only after 7:00 PM. I wanna know now!

The people working the place seemed ok. Except for the one senior citizen guy who was flirting like mad with all the senior citizen women.

And two old ladies screwed up their ballots and had to correct them while we were there.

We had the hole punch kind, and I found them very hard to see and punch.

Still had the paper/marker/fill in the arrow shaft ballots. Waited in line for half an hour during a break in my split shift. Considering there aren't more than 15,000 people in my voting district, that's a pretty good crowd for 11 am.

There was a really hot woman in front of me whose 3 year old daughter kept talking to me. I'm happily married, but it...uhhh...would have been rude to be ignore a friendly kid. Yeah.

the machines where i voted were quite simple to use. i didn't even take the time to read the instructions. a wheel thing to move between selections and a "select" button, "prev"/"next" and a big, red "submit ballot" button.

just took me 2 hours and 5 minutes to cast my vote. kinda like 6flags -- a long line for a quick, but thrilling ride.

My point being that happily married men seek justication for chatting up hot women. Otherwise, I'd be...errm...engaged in oafish behavior. Lord knows that's not me. Lord. Knows.

my Diebold® electronic voting this morning was really-really disturbing.

I hope that in the next election, we can at least get a paper-based receipt as proof-of-purchase, or what have you.

i wouldn't think they would start posting results until the respective state's polls close.

I sent in my absentee last week. woo hoo!

Depeche mode rocked the vote when rocking the vote wasn't cool.

Excerpt from Depeche Mode - New Dress

You can't change the world
But you can change the facts
And when you change the facts
You change points of view
If you change points of view
You may change a vote
And when you change a vote
You may change the world
