I spent the better part of Sunday watching interviews by Nardwuar.

http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?u ... viette&p=r

The knowledge he brings to each is just awesome. There are some amazing interviews.

One of the things I love is that because he's performing a character that's at least slightly annoying, you learn a lot about the performers by how they react to him. Some guys are just giant dicks the whole time (Blur, Transplants), while others get it and have a great time with it.

I thought he died years ago, but I guess not!

He interviewed Wesley Willis!

He did a phone interview with Krist Novoselic on his UBC show back around 1991 that was so fucking funny I almost crashed my car.

I've spent way too much time watching these today.

I wonder what he did to piss off that guy so much in the Blur one?

edit: I just listened to that Krist Novoselic one. God, how has that guy not accidentally killed himself yet?

Kool Keith is drinking a Hi-C during the interview?

These are great. It's taken most of my afternoon.

Yeah, that was my Sunday. I just couldn't stop.

I may even have to give Kate Nash a listen after that interview. She seemed pretty cool.

Nardwuar The Human Serviette! He's a legend in the Canadian music industry.

More times than I can count he's managed to win over celebs who really can't stand him simply with his encyclopedic knowledge. They're usually just taken aback at how he could know things that they barely remember.

His band The Evaporators is pretty good too.

Narduwar v. Jello Biafra?
That is something that I would love to hear.

I didn't realize he was in the Evaporators. That kind of explains them a little better.

I totally agree with Toots on this one. It's not much of a "versus" as the Evaporators are on Alternative Tentacles. The Jelvins interview seems a bit chummy.

Rollins is one of my favorites so far.

His interview with Oderus Urungus of Gwar is classic.

The Dropkick Murphys one was hilarious. Damn, I've wasted all day on this stuff.

I have VHS of the best of his old public access TV show. On the side of folks that don't get him or go along, there's an interview with Sonic Youth that goes pretty badly. Nardwuar had done his research as usual and had discovered that they had just recorded a cover of, like, an old Coasters tune or something. So, knowing he had the interview coming up, he sought out the original 45 of the song they covered and bought it for them.

They laughed at him and busted the 45 up into little pieces.
