I couldn't make out the unis at first, so I just assumed it was the Cubs.

I don't want Oakland to win their division this year. I want them to dominate!

Last couple of nights aren't really helping them in your desired quest for domination.

To be fair, wasn't he trying to help to save the baserunner from being thrown out? If he can somehow foul the ball off the guy likely gets sent back to first base rather than thrown out at second on the pitchout.

I assume it was that as well. Also, from the gif (which may be misleading) it appears it caused the catcher to pause a second before the throw even though he missed his swing.

To be fair, yes, this shows Elvis' commitment to the hit and run. Honorable, but it cost him a strike, and I'm not sure the base running result.

Giving up a strike to help avoid getting an out seems an okay trade. Certainly, if he had fouled it off like he was attempting to do it would still have been a strike (unless he just struck out, in which case he's dumb). Obviously, the pitcher was willing to give up a ball for the opposite result.

Doesn't he hit the catcher in the helmet?
