haha - so very true

BUT i actually did have a salad for lunch yesterday

if i'm going to be back out on the market, i am going to have to drop several "A"s from my FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

There is a market for BBM (big, beautiful men), & not just in the gay bear scene, so don't count your present self out just yet. Damned if I know where the babes who dig the FUPA are, but... Yeah. You have potential.

"beautiful"

I was watching Taboo: FAT on the National Geographic channel last night. There was a segment on NAAFA - National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance. I think they have balls you can attend.

Here's their website

You might also want to start posting on this board

Hell, maybe start another blog aimed at this new "demographic" of yours.

Sorry to see this. Hopefully it's for the best. It's good to see some positive attitudes on the board.

Tomorrow marks two months since the decision was made to get a divorce, while Sunday will (would?) mark the 18th anniversary of my wedding day. Neither seems appropriate to commemorate. The past two months have been a pretty discouraging limbo with things not having really progressed all that much from then to now. It would be nice to have some final closure and be able to move on with life, but it doesn't seem like that's necessarily imminent. I'm hoping it gets done before the kids start school again. The uncertainty weighs me down, as does the loneliness. I rationally know I won't be alone forever, but it's hard to see the eventual reality of that right now. I'm not overwhelmingly depressed, but I sure as hell ain't happy.

Not really sure why I felt the need to post that, other than just wanting to vent and clear out some of my internalized emotions. Thanks for letting me have my little emotional barf here. I hope none of the chunks splattered on anyone.

Vent on, Bob. Sometimes you have to. Additionally, sometimes you have to say the same thing over and over before you feel any different / better about it (PMs welcome on my part). Or that's been the case for me at least. Then again, I've never been married, just attracted to douchey guys who don't want relationships.

Shit bob, you don't have to apologize.

It'd be a rough and pensive kind of week for anyone in that situation.

Let it all out whenever you need, Bobbo. We got you.

Someone find Bobbo some strange, STAT :)

You don't need to air it all in public, Bob, but what is your next step plan? Like, have you filed for a legal divorce? Plans for who gets the house/kids, etc?

In any situation like yours, there is NO SUBSTITUTE FOR ACTION. Even taking a one day trip by yourself somewhere could be the catalyst to make your move and make it work.

this is the best advice yet, and definitely helped me put things into perspective.

i took some time out for myself, and was able to figure out and handle my decisions from that point on.

Bob, do it. seriously. get away for a bit.

Well, Bob, my separation has been a month and I feel the same way as you do. We are still in limbo on living arrangements, and it is hard for me to get used to not seeing my 3 year old daughter much at all now. Plus I'm working in a town where I know no one outside of my workplace. I'm not happy either, and I don't know what the answer is besides time (or maybe hookers).

I am thankful for still getting to be with my kids during all this.

Surprisingly, I didn't mention hallucinogens this time. I know who I'm dealing with: Car or hotel with working A/C unit, a lot of water and some solitude in a place that might help clear the mind... why the hell not?

Limbo sucks. Once you decide to make changes in your life, you want to get the details figured out and executed as soon as you can. That said, you probably want to figure out how to handle all this in a way that's least traumatic for your kids.

The other piece of advice i'd have is don't just mope. You're gonna be sad, you're gonna feel sorry for yourself, and there's a lot that you're going to miss. That's a given. There's increased freedom though too. Make sure you treat yourself right and do things just for ol Bobbo -- things that you couldn't do as family man Bobbo. Buy somethings that you wouldn't have been able to justify before -- they need not be big ticket items -- just something that brings you some happiness - an upgrade on your beer or whiskey, a better stereo, an autographed Hollywood Henderson jersey, whatever it might be. Plan some weekends away - seeing or doing things you'd always wanted to. You have to balance the negative with some positives.

I thought you'd like that. Just be careful not to get too many chipolte stains on it or its value will go down.

No kidding. Just with the existing residue alone, do you have any idea what the street value of that jersey is???

You meant to say the value would go "up" with the Chipotle stains, right?
