My condolences. I'd say my sympathies, but we didn't have kids. We just had dogs and that was bad enough.

Fryxell, you sure your wife doesn't have Postpartum Depression? To leave after having twins 4 months ago seems seriously off.

That's the first thing my wife said.

That went thru my head too, but I don't know the first thing about your situation, other than it seems to be a surprise to you.

That's what I thought, too. I caught her cheating on me with an old boyfriend and she told me she hasn't been in love with me for years. She is refusing to seek any help, but is a very loving and attentive mother. This shit has been going on for 2 months now and she's still seeing that dude. I tried everything I could to make her happy, but she just doesn't want to be with me anymore. I gotta move on and do my best to raise these girls the right way. I know I can do it.

I hate to be the one to say it, but absent more information the first thing I'd recommend is a paternity test. And a lawyer who knows the local family court judge really, really well.

Mind boggling that she would do IVF when not in love. Did she think that was going to fix it or be a substitute for it? She sounds pretty selfish to me. (only knowing this small portion of the story)

Man, that sucks.

But try to keep your head up. If that's her attitude (and/or true feelings) then you're better off without her. AND you have two beautiful children out of the deal.

I feel to truly address this situation you need the following...

A paternity test, a lawyer, a 20 year old stripper and several bottles of whiskey.

Trust me, this will help.

Fryxell, if she's going to treat you that way, fuck her. Focus all of your energies on being the best dad you can, cherishing every moment you get with the babies. That alone will get you over what she has done to you.

a weekend of unspeakable debauchery will also boost your confidence levels. treat yourself.
