Didn't get divorced, but I just split up with my girlfriend of 18 months. We were living together too, so it was additionally difficult. Was pretty serious as far as these things go.

Found out she fucked my best friend's housemate while I was out of town...

Found out about it on my birthday.

Good times.

Man, 2010: Year of the Divorce?

One of FemDerris' college friends called her Sunday and told her she was getting a divorce. It's not ugly or anything but still a 1 year old and 3 year old involved. Not to mention the couple was a big part of their social network. Lots of friends intertwined, etc. This stuff is never easy.

What's worse is that of her group of college friends, the first 2 to get married right out of college are now both divorced.

Good times.

yeah we've seen a lot of our friends get divorced in the past year. so now we are splitting up these friends and figuring out who can hang out with who and who we invite to what parties. makes it interesting.

Lots of people are having money and work troubles which puts a ton of stress on the marriage. Having little kids makes the stress exponential.

you have to figure anyone that would marry me is a masochist, so my wife can probably put up with me for another 10 years at least.

Also you're a lawyer who makes less than her. She probably figures she'd end up paying alimony to your lazy ass. Given the expected lifespan of a male in your family, its just easier to wait you out.

This was a fundamentally sound (and brilliant, btw) undertaking. The results have to be publicized at some point, though.

A lot of my friends have been getting married as they are graduating from college. Most of them are in the 20-23 age range. Seems most that are getting married are the religious types or the ones with husbands in the army. A lot of these marriages are going to be over in the next five to ten years I bet. Marrying young is something that I can't understand.

I found out last night another one of my friends is getting divorced. Maybe 2010 really is the year of the divorce.

Hell, I'll probably be working on my third or fourth divorce before you manage one.

No...that was for Rodney. I figure you're pretty efficient at getting rid of the dead weight.
