It came in today and immediately went into the stereo. This remastering is impressive sounding. It's huge.

Just finishing the second set, which was incredible and onto the third. Can't wait to hear The Other One.

i would be all over a Spring '77 box set. my heart broke a little bit when they mentioned in the liner notes that they don't have the master tape for the Cornell show.

There is a lot that I like about this 72 tour, but at the same time I think it's going to bump my appreciation for later periods. This is by far the most intimate I've ever been with any one period, so that I really get the ebb and flow of how things went and where they were with particular songs. But you can tell they were a little constricted by the set list which would likely double in range in the next decade.

Based on a random sample I pulled to check sound quality, it's pretty impressive. I'm looking to balance out the '72 shows with a '77 to keep things interesting.

I heard the Alabama show on the Dead channel last fall and it was fantastic. So glad to have a copy of it. Even the missus, not normally a Dead fan, was grooving.

I've frequently read that "5-8-1977 Barton Hall, Cornell University, Ithica NY" is their best show ever.

I have a sketchy fan recording of it and it's fairly incredible.

sorry for the delay on this one DJ...i did check out most of the '77 while the wife and i were painting a room earlier this week and we both agreed it was a killer show. i'm sure we'll be playing this one again this weekend too -- we have out-of-town guests who will definitely appreciate this.
