Stealing this from another board I frequent. Hopefully to get some discussions going and be slightly different than the "You Should Here This" thread from a year or so ago. Each day I'll start a new thread with a new year.

Rules:
1) Only 6 albums can be picked

2) This is not necessarily an exercise on critical darling albums--but records you personally like each of the years

3) Allmusic will be the decider of release dates

I'll start:

Is there a site that one can go to quickly and just type in the year and get a list of releases. This is too much work for me otherwise.

I don't much care for Kiss or Steely Dan but the other four are great.

Does AMG have an ability to search or bring up albums by release year? Rateyourmusic does but their data differs. Also, AMG stinks for world music. There are two albums I was considering but AMG has the dates wrong (they only know of the more recent reissues).

But whatever...using their dates, I'd offer these:

Without even trying yet, you've picked two of my six in two posts (Willie Nelson and KISS).

I don't have much from 75, which is weird since 76 and 77 are great years in my estimation and I've also got plenty from 73-74. Anyway here goes:
Kraftwerk: Radio Activity
Lou Reed: Coney Island Baby
Bob Dylan: Blood on the Tracks
Blue Öyster Cult: On Your Feet or on Your Knees
Burning Spear: Marcus Garvey
Dictators: Go Girl Crazy

Zuma vs. Tonight's The Night was a hard one for me. Both great records.

Patti Smith's Horses, another great pick.

It's been too long since I've heard that one. "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" is one of the rare rock instrumentals that can give me chills.

Yeah, that Thin Lizzy would be in the top 10.

Completely forgot that Eno record was 75, but probably wouldn't have made in top 6.

Never listened to that Harmonia. Seen it a bunch of times and always mean to give it a go.

'75 begins and ends with the Ian Hunter album for me. The Dictators get 2nd.

Here's some more that are hashing it out for 3 - 6:
