Great record, but prefer Big Tobacco by a nose.

Big Tobacco is the only Pernice/Pernice-related album that I just don't like much at all. I've been meaning to re-listen to it though to give it another chance.

AMG & RYM both list the Bruntnell as 2000. I'm assuming its a US release date vs. UK release date issue.

Rod - both of those are real. The Falamansa cover might make the alltime terrible cover list but I really like the music, not that I'd recommend it to most people here.

This year was a lot better than I remembered, and limiting to 6 was a lot harder than I imagined it would be.

+1 for Idlewild.

Pluses-one to Air, Badly Drawn Boy, Delgados, & SELF.

I can still remember that the last was one of the first albums I bought after seeing a CMJ review, ordering it from Amazon the next day. Picked up Delgados in Madrid, shortly after release; BDB in DC in April '01, at the same time as the Nelly Furtado seen above; & Air, in Appleton, Wisc., at the exclusive company.

& honourable mention to Koufax -- It Had to Do with Love, which I also bought in Appleton.

Don't know. I tracked the Google image result to this site, but havn't researched enough to know the writer's origin.

All I can think is it's an alternate cover for Canada, Europe, or Japan.

Did find this, though. Wish I could have seen him live, at some point -- but this will have to do.

(I saw his "2012 living room tour" dates on davidbazan.com, but the Madison date (less than a week from now) is sold out. Damnit.)
