Have you tried Healthy Boy sriracha sauce? Oh my god, drizzled onto a thai omelette today. Incredible stuff, fuck the rooster.

I have not, but I am a fan of the genre.
I will keep an eye out...

just booked my booth for my official 'coming out' party..... (calm down there, OPA if you're lurking!)..... http://www.nychotsauceexpo.com/

my buddy who runs, High River Sauces, is putting this on... Last years was off the hook!

Speaking of hot, I bought a bunch of Manzano Chiles:

Image

at the farmers market recently. Mine were substantially larger than the ones in that pic - about 2/3 of the size of a bell pepper. They are a relative of rocoto pepper and look and taste like bell peppers but unlike bell peppers they pack some heat too. I didn't realize how much (higher on scoville scale than jalapenos and serranos) and just substituted four or five of them for bell peppers in an indian dish I was making last night. It was pretty tasty but the heat kind of overwhelmed most of the other flavors. Definitely going to have to get more of these though and use them a little more judiciously.

Should've just tossed a few of those seeds into a pot and grown your own.

it leaked a little bit, but it was still good.

haven't tried it on anything, other than tasting from a spoon. the wife thinks it would be really good with cream/goat cheese on a triscuit, and i think i'd have to agree...

Mine just arrived.
Also a little leakage, but smells amazing. And, it's just in time for lunch!!!

EDIT:
Just took a little finger-full and this stuff is seriously delicious. Excellent work, Dov!
There is Indian food down in the lunchroom today and I am thinking that this will be an excellent way to spice up one of the less-spicy dishes, like a tikka masala or something.

Okay, so not on that tikka masala, but on some coconut chana onions and it's wonderful!
Also gave a taste test to a friend here at work who is a major spicehead. He said that he is not a fan of fruit with his spice (he likes to taste the peppers more than the fruit), but that this sauce was "Really, really good."

should have all 4 sauces in stock 4 the x-mas rush....
and i am trying to work on, but doubt i'll have in time to be made, a 'crows nest', which will hold a bottle of all 4 sauces...the idea is cool. making it a reality is proving longer than expected.

BURN THE CROW (Habanero Red)
SPICY KETCHUP (new name coming)
BLACKBERRY BELLE (blackberry habanero sauce)
THE DEVIL HIS DUE (ghost pepper sauce w/ apple sauce and pears)

oooh yeah! :rawk:
