No idea how anyone likes Joanna Newsom.

Also, can't say there's anything I like on your list except Thundercat, Arthur Russell, Oneohtrix Point Never, Hayden, Lower Dens, Tobias Jesso Jr, Tame Impala but there's a couple I haven't heard either.

Well, I love Jo Jo. Almost everything about her records – this one not quite as good as 'Have One On Me' – and her astonishing live performances.

The Jim O'Rourke record is a must. WIN WIN and Esmerine are definitely worth listens.

I was wondering why you said you didn't like anything except for the EIGHT artists you mentioned and the handful of albums you haven't heard yet.

Truth be told I checked out the Hayden album, as I like his early work, but it didn't do much for me. However, I also looked into WIN WIN which I like quite a bit, so thanks for that, ish!

I like a lot of these albums a lot. Love Divers. Love Ought.

Those Six Organs Hexadic albums are great, especially the first one.

I don't know if it's just the version of the Low album I have, but it's ridiculously LOUD and not-good sounding, production-wise, which has really hurt my opinion of it. It sounds even worse than the Fridmann-produced albums.

Hm! I love the sound of the Low vinyl on my system, but you're right that it is loud. There's a boominess to the bass on some tracks, but I've always thought that it's employed to good effect.

I was interested to hear what you thought of the Six Organs records, knowing that you're a fan. I found my year-end lists from 2005 onward, and there's at least one Six Organs album on each list. Hexadic, though, feels especially refreshed.

I checked this out the other day and dug it.

Separately, have you heard Mbongwana Star - From Kinshasa? I gave it a listen this week and really dug what I heard on first listen.

I gave it one listen earlier in the year and enjoyed it. I'd return to it.

You should check out Golden Teacher out of Glasgow, if you have yet to. Very tribal house music, in a way.
