If'n y'all are interested...

"This Ain't No Race"
https://hoponpop.bandcamp.com/track/this-aint-no-race
Kind of a acoustic rockabilly thing. Upbeat, bouncy, and fun.

"If You Knew"
https://hoponpop.bandcamp.com/track/if-you-knew
Country 2-step that I can hear being sung by Johnny Cash or Jeff Tweedy.

I'm proud of both of these and hope you'll listen to them. If you do, I'd like to know what you thought.
Thanks!

This Ain't No Race = the kind of thing I'd have a lot of fun playing over... the back Broadcaster pickup on the deluxe tele, a little compression, tiny slapback delay, little reverb, juuust enough gain for it to cry a little when you lean into it, and liberal use of palm muting. Then the pedal steel sweeping through the changes behind it all.

If You Knew = crazy how different your voice's lower register sounds than your upper.

:D
The guy I had playing lead on this one actually used a Gretsch (on both songs). I think it gave, this one in particular, that great rockabilly vibe. But yeah, a Telecaster is never a bad choice. We used one for those little licks during the bridge, for logistical purposes, since we recorded those later and couldn't get the guy who played the lead in to the studio with his Gretsch.

As I'm getting older, I think that lower register is getting stronger and gaining a little more... gravity, I guess.

Thanks for checking it out.
And thanks to you, too, Bob!

Todd, these are really solid. I almost don't recognize your voice in "If You Knew". I like it when you take your vocals deeper.

Thanks Tim!
It's weird when people say that about my lower register, I think it just sounds like me, but deeper.
But, lots of people ARE saying that.
