Something different genre-wise than we usually talk about (as of a decade ago) --

Name some classical (broad genre, not period) recordings/albums/composers/performers that you dig.

Just got this box set (for $5!) so I'm working my way through it.

I'm so really digging this

And I keep coming back to this

Well, Penderecki died over the weekend. Unrelated to the Rona.

Nice to see recognition of Penderecki requiescat in pace. Really was innovative and a source of a lot of electronic, ambient, "new music" that isn't thought of as "classical"....

This is powerful:

Gorecki's 3rd, just the soundtrack for the End of Days, now. And just up the Baltic coast - also very "ambient" oriented, not as jarring as Penderecki, and soundtrack for the demise of the human race, Arvo Pärt.

Absolutely right, Harry. I was using Classical as a catch-all term.

I am drawn to Arvo Pärt's "Passio". I find he plunges the depths of spirituality in a way that opens me up to the mysterious unseen. It sounds expansive. I get lost in it.

I'm really digging the Penderecki. I've also got some Mozart next in the que (because he's my all time favorite), followed by the Gorecki. Combining this music with my noise canceling headphones, I'm finally starting to accomplish some work while at home.
