i have to be honest, mobb deep was the reason i stopeed listening to hip for a while.
they came out and really solidified a dark (and what i thought was boring) sound.

and then lots of people copied it for a while, and all rap was slow and dark and about killing and drugs.

then one day it clicked and i loved it.

great album.

they still make graet songs, but i can't get into the albums.

That's a good question, mang. Care to elaborate? This was a staple. Especially with the Nas and Rae cameos, and their albums, this was one of my faves back in the day.

hmm, sophomore year of high school 95'...Ready to Die mostly...Liquid Swords, Cuban Links, No code, Maxinquaye, Exit Planet Dust, Melloncollie and the Infinite Sadness, Vitology, Weezer's blue album, Dookie, Tom Petty, CCR, stuff of the sort...

Most of the dudes (stoners/jocks) I hung out with were listening to strictly cypress hill, wu-tang and ice-cube, and didn't stray too far from those...

Those sound about right. I was a senior in HS then, and all those albums, save Green Day and Tricky/Chemical Bros (that came later) were in heavy rotation.

Most of my friends were into gangsta shit, so I rocked this one pretty hard. Just kinda weird that it never came up on your radar.
