Has anyone here heard this? More importantly, does anyone involved with Clevercactus have this? I really love Mr. Lif, so . . .

i think the mixtape is it, i haven't heard a whiff of the newest one leaked yet. they just got it back from being mastered, according to their website.

The Perceptionists (Mr. Lif, Akrobatik & Fakts One) will release Black Dialogue on 3-22-05 courtesy of Def Jux Records and it will feature guest appearances from Guru, Shock G, Camu Tao and Little Brother's Phonte who guests on "5 O'clock". While Fakts One handles most of the production, Camu Tao chips in one track and El-P contributes three selections ("Blo", "People 4 Prez", and "Frame Rupture") - Christopher "Scav" Yuscavage

yeah, it's not great. mr. lif's voice is just not working for me anymore, even if his lyrical content is. and the beats are not consistent in quality if not in sound. i think that my opinion of it is tarnished by the very pedestrian quality of the second-tier def jux releases of the past year, and the fact that this cd doesn't break the chain irritates me more than the record itself objectively would. but still, that five o'clock beat is killing it.

yeah it makes me wonder about the rap collectives of the last ten years or so following that same pattern. It makes me wonder how long until Stones Throw starts unleashing a b-team of utter crap. Anticon...well i already think most of them suck so that's beside the point.
