essential items you should carry wif you:

a dictionary
thesaurus
spectacles
pen
magnifying glass
voice recorder
anthology of greek philosophy
baseball bat (to beat up smelly ppl)

but srsly. i almost caught LIFF when he did a -secret- tour here like 2 years ago, but then they had got the MONTH (!) wrong in the papers, so i missed it by like urrrrrrrrr..... a month. then again now i am not that into them. maybe if he did an album with swizz beats. when is el-p droppin a new album?

aesop rock did his thing as expected, but what surprised me was that he was a LOT funnier than i expected, and a pretty decent showman. lif was more or less his hypeman, and did a couple of his own songs, but his solos got kind of tiresome after a while. why isn't erick sermon producing these guys? the dj was a kid named big whizz who used these:

honestly he did some pretty cool stuff, but he seemed to want all the alcolades in the world and dude, you're not even changing records, i'm kind of impressed, but not really. Hangar 18 and Metro from SA Smash.... there's just no reason for hangar 18 to exist. they did rap over Welcome to the Jungle which was kind of interesting. all in all a good time. Aesop Rock's parents were standing behind us the whole time, and i think that we had more fun than they did.

Aesop Rock has dropped out of two tours when in philly since 2001 and i've still never gotten around to seeing him. Glad you hear it was enjoyable. you get Lif to re-sign the boob?
