yeah i've made threads about it. it's top 3 of the year for me no doubt. it's a bit bombastic at times...and really pushes that neo-soul thing, but it's such a good fucking record.

i don't really like Kanye OR common, and for some reason i'm really curious to hear this album.

i like kanye as a producer, so maybe that's why. Does he rap/sing much on the album?

i'm not sure if kanye appears vocally at all. my opinion should count for little, because i'm not well-versed in the rap/hip-hop/ok, black genres but i really like this album. testify is great.

three good tracks (corners, chi city, food)... and four if kanye's voice wasn't on "go", but the the rest just falls flat. sorry.

perhaps it wouldn't sound as bad to me if not for (the prior knowledge in the back of mind) how contrived and phony half the shit common says sound right abt now.

gotta admit tho half way into the intro when common was all "yeah" then followed it up with a more breathy convincing "yeah..sss" it gave me a warm tingly feelin there for a second but after it all ended 11 tracks later i was left very underwhelmed

no i just like good hiphop. i mean i love resurrection to death. no matter where you stand half of these tracks couldda been off any 3rd rate producer from a jill scott or bilal album. at least to me. also, fuck bandwagon critics on the internet.

(of cause the bias you speak of is there but) i guess the bigger point maybe common has always been frustrating cause he has always been a bit of a letdown. i mean the man can rap.
