My goal on these two comps, US one to follow, was to try and pick songs or bands that people don’t hear about as often. I made this comp for someone on the board and named about 12 bands, if I remember correctly, and he was not familiar with any that I listed. So that became motivation but I really wanted to include Oceansize. So instead of making it all 2004 stuff, I added a few from the previous year as well. So this isn’t the very best of 2004 because people know Fiery Furnaces but have never heard Bravecaptain or Blueskins before. If you are interested PM me or post here and I will get it out to you. Didn’t post in Sketch little thing because it’s not an end of year list, just happens to come out at the end of the year. Of course I took up ever possible second, barely getting Delgados in.

Ringing In My Ear

The Cooper Temple Clause – Promises Promises
Oceansize – Catalyst
Biffy Clryo - The Ideal Height
Ash - Orpheus
The Blueskins – My Love Is Law
The Legends – Call It Ours
The Delays – Hey Girl
The Earlies – 25 Easy Pieces
Hope Of The States – Black Dollar Bill
Polak – Something Wrong
JJ72 – Formulae
Belle & Sebastian – Your Cover’s Blown
Seafood – Heat Walks Against Me
The Radio Dept – Where Damage Isn’t Already Done
Adem – Ringing In My Ear
The Bees – This Is The Land
Kings Of Convenience – I’d Rather Dance With You
Bravecaptian – Into Thin Air
The Delgados – Sink Or Swim
The Broken Family Band – Devil In The Details

Aren't they Swedish?

Decent mix - although a few of those aren't really unknown - Ash, Hope of the States etc. I've never heard of the Blueskins though.

Edit: I see it's a UK or so mix. My Bad.

Kings of Convenience are Norwegian I believe. Certainly Scandanavian of some sort.
