What are some comps you've made of a single band?

I'm listening to my Royal Crescent Mob comp. Others would be a Primus and an Infectious Grooves (members of Suicidal Tendencies getting funk-kay!) comps. Oh, yeah, a 2-disc Red Hot Chili Peppers set.

I also made one of Journey, believe it or not, from the first 3 albums when they were kinda prog-rock, before Steve Perry chimed in.

Anybutty wanna trade?

Curve
Duran Duran
The Crystal Method
Underworld
The Bee Gees

...lots more, this was off the top of my head. No Primus though, alas.

I've done a lot of these, but I don't think I have any of them onhand as I made them all for friends.

Mouse on Mars
Stereolab
Pavement
Beck B-Sides (I do have this one)
Grandaddy B-Sides & EPs (have these, too)
Radiohead B-Sides (and this)

Beach Boys!

I've found that friends hate single artist mix cds.

In college I had this Phish mix I used to get people into them. I used tracks like

Farmhouse
Bouncing Around The Room
Gotta Jiboo
Sample In A Jar
Down With Disease

It actually worked pretty well. You gotta crawl before you walk.

a few years ago i put the entire Kung Fu Monkeys discography (41 songs) on one 90 minute tape. there's a few more 7"s out now so i don't think it'll fit any more.

Another mix I've made is a collection of Rose Melberg stuff. My favorite Tiger Trap, Softies, Go Sailor, Gaze, and Thee Peeps/Rose Melberg solo stuff in one collection. It's sweet.

In the past, I've done "retrospectives" on NOFX and Green Day (hello, college days!), but those too now are outdated and at the bottom of the mix tape crate.

I want to make a mix of Inspiral Carpets stuff.

I also have B-side collections of Beck (now spanning 5 discs at least!), Radiohead, Boo Radleys, Teenage Fanclub, Yo La Tengo, etc.

i've done man or astroman, old 97s, and pulp. they didn't work as well as i'd wanted, so they're not in rotation anymore.

The only ones I still have and listen to:

Radiohead (B-sides/Remixes, 2 cds)
Nick Cave (better than the official best of, with none of the same songs)
Tanya Donelly/Belly/songs she did with other bands

If you are feeling like recreating, I'm down for a Jason & the Scorchers mix.
