there's a butcher's shop in my town with a big sign in the window.
it says:

pleased to meet you
meat to please you

it makes me laugh and cringe in equal measure.

so, hello! :)

Greeting tiny cities. Tell us more about yourself. Where do you live? How did you find us? What are some of your favorite genres/artists/albums/song? Are you a regular customer at aforementioned butcher shop? Do you like cheese?

I suggest you answer the cheese question first. Cheese is way popular around here.

And welcome!

hi, and thank you for the welcomes!

i love cheese like i love the baby jesus, and i'm currently on an emmental tip. i love it's warm, woody flavour and waxy, closed texture.

other than that - i'm female and live in the uk, i'm not as young as i used to be, but i'm still prone to bouncing around my bedroom singing into a hairbrush. i work hard, don't play as much as i'd like to, and am currently favouring good news for people who like bad news and guero. i always make the mistake of buying two new albums at a time, falling in love with one and leaving the other one languishing like a jilted date.

I love clever shop signs. There's one near my home for a muffler shop -- the sign outside reads "No muff is too tuff". Hmmm...

Welcome, TinyCities! It's always wonderful to have new "meat" in our intimate community. Which part of the UK are you in? We have a few members residing in your corner of the world as well. Do you care for visitors? I'm coming over in a few weeks, enjoy beer and great music. :)

Welcome Tiny Cities!
I like the UK -- they gave us many good bands.
Okay, you got me... great bands.

And my favorite sign (in the window of a local tavern, known for their amazing hamburgers):
"We serve food as a courtesy to our drinking customers."

American living in Reading, Berkshire over here. Been to Manchester once. Very cool town. Is Bolton closer to you, perchance? I know it's up there somewhere.

I like beer and great music too.

What made this thread start up again?

Not that you aren't as welcome in January 2006 as in April 2005, but it's kinda odd.
