I've been kicking around this board for a while now and figured it was time to start contributing. I'm from Jersey and I am a poor college student who collects guitars and baseball cards, and has worn the same pair of sneakers for 4 years.

My user name comes from an average pitcher who spent a few years in the mid 90s as a starter for the San Francisco Giants.

So glad you could join us, Van'ham! What sort of music are ya diggin' on these days? Anything that's trippin' your trigger, floatin' your boat', blowin' your skirt? :)

Well lets see. Newer stuff I'm digging includes Clem Snide, Stars, Graham Coxon, Ed Harcourt, and the Doves.
I also find myself listening to some Bruce Hornsby, Screaming Trees, and The Jam.

Pretty much anything except polka will trip my trigger.

Here's what I've got so far:

Epiphone acoustic-electric
Martin 12 string dreadnought
Fender Dobro
Fender Banjo
Fender A-Body Mandolin
Fender Stratocaster
Epiphone Limited Edition Dot Deluxe

And my dad has a 63 Fender P-Bass

Not nearly as impressive as your stash Cap'n, but I enjoy em.

oh no, that's a hell of a start! I'm jealous. And the last time I added anything was... well, before I got hitched, that's for sure. Funny how that works. Most of my collecting coincided with having student loans, once upon a time. Then when the missus and I were serious but still had separate accounts, I could still sneak one in here and there (97 tele plus!). These days, the mortgage takes precident.

Mandolin, banjo, dobro...! Awesome. That's why I got the pedal steel, 4 years back. Eeeverybody plays guitar, and everybody's pretty damn good at it, too. Get some chops on the rarer intstruments and you can wind up in good company. I got to play with an irish / old country group at their weekly monday gig for 2 and a half years, thanks to the sho bud. Yaay tax refund! Then they moved to boston...

note to all Ob's: None of these guitars are stock. This motherfucker will saw, sauter, or sand on an instrument until it works right, god bless him.

my pleasure but I must give the big ups to you for creating a couple of BAD ASS guitars. And reciprocate for your assistance on my Carvin project. Still plays like a dream though the input jack has some unexplained issues.

Oh yeah, made a CapnDeez shobud avatar for your ass:

edit: hmm, not so good, i'll work on it or find a better pic.
