I'm Steve. My friend Chris introduced me to obner.

I currently live just outside Atlanta. I have 3 kids in college and a beautiful wife named Cindy.

My life and love of music is long and storied. My first concert of note was David Bowie at the Dome in Brighton, England when I was 16. That show changed me. My musical tastes until then had been very mainstream top 40'ish. I soon discovered Roxy Music, Iggy Pop, Be Bop Deluxe and Genesis among others.

I moved from England to the San Francisco area in 1976. I had the good fortune to meet and/or jam with Carlos Santana, Jim Carroll, Ronnie Montrose and a few local bands now defunct.

During my time in California I had a friend who worked for SIR and enjoyed a lot of shows from backstage. U2, The Clash, Boomtown Rats, Thw Who and on and on.

At the same time I worked at the Record Factory and was the program director and had a show on KOHL radio. I fully expected to have a career in music, but I was also a good designer and ended up working in product development on everything from consumer electronics to medical equipment.

I still play and sing in a local bar, but never made the commitment to a life in music. I am a frustrated rock star.

I'm looking forward to meeting and talking with everyone here.

Hi.

I'm Scottish and I'm back up the road now (Glasgow) but I lived down in Brighton (Moulescomb to be precise) for a year and a half in the mid 90's.

Never actually been in the Brighton dome but I have taken a piss up against it. Sorry about that but I was very drunk staggering up North Street from the Basement nightclub. Such were the times.

I actually have a serious interest in turn-of-the-century Victorian architecture now that I didn't have back then so it's a moment I recollect with some shame.

DUDE. Steve. Glad you made it on to the board.

Albion is yet another (albeit a bit older) of our cronies and really swell guy. I invited him to join our little community here as he is simpatico with much of our tastes and of the age/tastes as such people as Radcliffe.

Treat him well or I will burn all your fucking houses down.

Welcome Steve-O. See you at Bingo on Tuesday with your new mixes.

:D

Noice to have you around. You can now have SOME clue of what Chris and I are prattling on about when next I see you.

Thanks much for the warm welcomes. I've been sniffing around a bit but haven't put both feet in yet. Steady yourselves, I'm gearing up.

Heya Albion!
Nice to meet you?
Do you have a daughter?
...that would be: "Albion's Daughter": one of my favorite songs (by a mister Martin Newell)... not a nasty allusion.

Believe me, I'm a dad myself (and a frustrated rock star, as well).
So.. welcome to the OB.

Welcome to the board, Albion. Obner (and the world in general) needs more of us decrepit old cranks to teach these children well.
