Break me in!

I am a midwesterner who hasn't 'chatted' with people online since freshman year of high school... Is this even the same thing?

I appreciate the sound of music over the sound of lyrics and I love a band that can succesfully experiment with everything except the norm (harmonicas and violins are my favorite). My current often-played bands? Radiohead, The Walkmen, Spoon, The Beatles, The Faint, Kings of Convenience, Neko Case, Kaki King, The Who, Soulive, Modest Mouse, The Cranberries, The Flaming Lips, Aimee Mann, Tullycraft and right now my WMP is playing "American Pie" by Don McLean (I'll never fall out of love with this song!)

I hope this forum thing is cool... Until next time, hello and SLIANTE'!

Hey again, dani - glad to have you. Sometimes the forums are in fact distressingly like chatting, so I'm sure you'll transition fine, and you're bound to find other fans of everyone you mentioned with the possible exception of Don McLean, though I'm sure that guilty pleasure is hiding in the closet of more than one member.

I'm a midwesterner (Indianapolis) turned East coaster as well.

Hey, glad you took my advice.

Enough already with the Don McLean though

Hello Dani.
Welcome to the OB.
In this place we recognize only 2 styles of music: good and bad (regardless of age).
And which is which type is quite frequently the topic of our discussion – although we can all agree to disagree, which is nice.

Again, WELCOME!

Hello dani!

Don't worry, we're real gentle-like here.

Most of the time.

Dusty, that classic rock forum is great, thanks for the tip!

Soooo... since I'm new, anyone want to explain how to put pictures into your messages? Or how to reply specifically to what one person has said? I'm lost, and hopefully someone is gentle enough to help.

To reply specifically just hit that quote button next to the post you are looking at. For images find a pic on the net. Get the pic's URL (right click on the pic and select properties.) The put (img)(/img) around it. But instead of using these "()" use these "[]"
