I say custom ranks but everybody else has to decide yours for you. Each person gets a thread, say in this forum to avoid clutter, where suggestions are thrown out. After a while, a poll is made and votes are made on each person's new rank title.
waiddaminute. can we vote on the issue of naming our own selves first?
see, i'm not really interested in naming other people. the idea is a bit unfair, in my mind. why?
1. i only know circa 2.3 folk on this board (dusty, zombeels, and i swear, someone's ever-morphing avatar rings a kathish bell somewhere.) i wouldn't know what to call anybody. i would run out of names once i hit the eighth dwarf.
and
2. nobody really knows me. if other people name me, i could end up with something much worse than street teamery. oh, say,
kathy mcn00b. or
kathy the n00bular. or
kathy n00bib00bs. or even just plain
kath-y. this would make me flee faster than you can hit yer -y key... which is a good thing, if yer trying to get rid of me, but a bad thing if yer me.
the other advantage to naming yerself is that you can change it whenever ya get bored with it. one day i can be
astronomy domino's™. the next day, i could be
the groovy queen of crap unforeseen. the day after that, i could go for some pithy motto, e.g.,
arse gratia artis, or
tempus fucqueit, or
loritabula rasa, or
unpopular pygmies gnaw at the foot of the enigma, or
waiting to make trent reznor her own personal human cheesecake.
okay, so the trent thing is too long, but you get the idea.
..where was i? oh yeah, making a grilled cheese for breakfast.
