REM - It's the end Of the World (name drops Lester Bangs)
mi6 - "Jeff Brown" (local Lawrence, KS band disses some guy for giving them a bad review. That guy... our own "onebrownjeff")

Sonic Youth at one point retitled "Kill Yr Idols" "I Killed Christgau With My Big Fucking Dick."

A band nobody ever heard of called Graveblanket had a song called "What Pauline Kael Thinks."

There was a GnR song that name dropped (or more like...cussed out) Bob Guccione, Jr., among other critics. I think it was called "Get in the Ring."
