About time I introduced myself - have been lurking for a fair bit and now that uni is over for the year can justify wasting copious hours posting here.

So what do you want to know?

Despite my avatar, I am a girl, from Australia

<--- speaking of, this was quite possibly the SINGLE GREATEST thing I have ever wtinessed
(Australia finally made it to the world cup after 31 years of being rubbish)

:D :D :D

It's still making me smile 24 hrs later

Hi, Telescope! Welcome to our beloved lil' board -- we can definitely use more girls around here. How did you find us? Who are you listening to these days?

And, congrats to your country for making it to the WC!

Heya telescope!!!
Welcome to the posting world.
Like Tania, I wants to know about your listening habits these days, too.

And, for the record... since yer from Australia, I happen to be a big fan of Blue Ruin's album, Flame. You know it? Good stuff.

I saw the clips of your victory. That is just awesome. Congrats.

Hey everyone

I'm in Sydney until tomorrow. Since uni is over I have to move back to my hometown 5.5 hrs away. The only thing it's known for is its country music festival making it uninhabitable for about 2 weeks every year. Something to look forward to

Musicwise, I was just looking back over stuff I've bought this year and realised that most of its been catching up on older things.

I am however listening to The Avalanches at the moment and think this might just be one of my favourite albums, especially now summer is here

G'day! Telescope! WELCOME.
So what's this about heading to Germany? Is this for school?

I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have. This is a great buch of people and unlike me, they really know their music!

Back finally

Yeah I already love this place, that's why I finally registered.

Listening wise, I'm doing a bit of a catchup, although I still need to pick up several cds before I can think of doing a year end list.

Was listening to the new Franz Ferdinand yesterday (well new to me anyway), and it is surprisingly solid. Also got a copy of the Clap Your Hands from my brother - it's a bit different than I expected. Liked a couple of songs straight away, tho need to listen to it some more.

Inreasingly coming around to the new Sleater-Kinney. Is interesting because I just bought Call the Doctor and The Hot Rock in anticipation of seeing them at the Big Day Out and their sideshow, if it ever gets announced.

Other than that, I've had a big year of buying older cds becuase a store near where I live when I'm at uni has a great $10 table that I've been making use of. Some of the Brian Eno reissues have been favourite discoveries.

My main problem atm is that I may be away from a reliable internet connection for the next few months, so I'll only be around occasionally. But rest assured I won't be disappearing!
