I am sad and lonely these days. Stuff I have been listening to lately: Mogwai, Pedro the Lion, Jawbreaker, Boom Bip, Tricky, Portishead, Eluvium, The Format (surprisingly), Explosions in the Sky.

I am welcoming suggestions for more stuff along these lines. Thanks in advance.

Just go to the supermarket and listen to the muzak. It's much cheaper.

If you're sad and lonely, why not ditch the sad sack o' shit music and listen to something like the New Pornographers? Calexico, Pavement, The Thermals.

But, if you really want to stay on the depressed track, try Sun Kil Moon, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Iron & Wine, Red House Painters, Black Heart Procession, Malcolm Middleton or for some pretty cool music that doesn't depress but does relax, the new Ulrich Schnauss is excellent.
