Ah the debate over whether YHF is a 2001 release or 2002

I'm in the 2002 camp. But it would've made things really interesting in placing my favorite 2001 albums.

Really strong year with a lot of competition for 4-6. 1-3 are pretty much a lock, though.

2. Fugazi - The Argument
3. The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2

4. Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You
5. Califone - Roomsound
6. Autechre - Confield

I knew there was going to be something I forgot. This is definitely a standout from 01.

2001 was a great year. I came up with a list of 25-30 albums to consider. Tough to narrow down to 6. These are the six I still listen to the most:

Spoon - Girls Can Tell
Ted Leo - Tyranny of Distance
Built to Spill - Ancient Melodies of the Future
My Morning Jacket - At Dawn
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - BRMC
Pete Yorn - Musicforthemorningafter

Dang, I forgot about Pete Yorn. That's a great album. I was going to also include BRMC in, but allmusic.com listed it as a 2000 release.

As long as we all agree that Hearts of Oak, & everything after, was trash, I can get behind that tejleo/pharmacists record, above.

I think those guys got their deal through the online battle of the bands site Garageband.com, if I am not mistaken.
I was on there for a long time, too. It was a fun site.
