I stand corrected then. Thanks for the legal update, Aaron. I had always heard that once you marry, you assume your spouse's debts (unpaid college loans, expenses, etc.). I also thought that as soon as you have joint checking accounts, or "joint property", that collection agencies will come after the spouse if the debtor doesn't pay.
