I just paid $90 for a copy of Portable Life on eBay. I guess you could say I've taken my recent obsession with Gregg Alexander to the limit. Anyway, have any of you ever paid a ridiculous amount for an album that's hard to find?

65 on ebay for a copy of the album by Holding The Void, Joseph Arthur's side band with Pat Sansone.

He later started selling copies of the album again at shows. I was annoyed.

maybe, but i listened to the first one a lot in high school. upon closer examination it wasn't very good.

Years ago, just before mp3s were the rage and trading bootlegs was the norm, I sold a bootleg of a 1977 Genesis show on ebay for . . . $136! This was a "real" bootleg - not CDRs - with professionally printed artwork, etc, and was extremely rare. I had worked at a little music store in the mid-90s and they stocked bootlegs, so we often picked out titles we wanted at wholesale prices, so I stocked up. I probably owned about 100 of these pressed bootlegs on CD and when I realized how pointless it was to own them when I could just make copies and have, essentially, the same thing, I started selling them off. Most didn't sell for as much as this one, but I must have doubled my investment by the time they were all gone. Sure wish I'd bought a bunch of those Genesis boots, though.

By the way, remember that voice Jay-Z sampled for his hit "Hard Knock Life"? That was Danielle as a child! She was in the original Broadway cast for Annie.

Reviewer: Garry Hixon "Garry Hixon" (Morro Bay California) - See all my reviews
I am so glad I found you on Amazon! I hope you are happy and hopeful about 2005, 2004 will go down as the greatest year ever, the presidential election will be close, I think about you every day and I hope to actually meet you for real one day, when I was 17 in 1982, I really tried to be an actor and marry you, but I got realy sick from a bad fever and almost died, I care about you very very much and I love you very very much. I am so sorry I have not written much over the years, but I did at Cuesta College a couple of times and when you typed Danielle Brisebois on Yahoo or Google or MSN, my messages to you would come up, with these new letters to my Darling Danielle, I hope it will come up on Google, I hope you read this, and wish you would record again, I pray that you are safe and that we see each other this time for real, very soon, at least we will be friends, I am very passionate though and fall in love easy, Drew Barrymore is my only hope on this earth, I have known you a little longer though, please pray that we will be together soon, I love you Danielle, love garry
