only 30 gig.

You can probably fit enough music on there to listen for 3 months without anything repeating. That would be fun to try.

You are not alone. I know for a fact Bloor, Cap'N, and I are fans.

I know you have this one already, since I saw it on your blog, but I would take lhasa - the living road.

p.s. thanks for recommending that one, i've been digging it.

New Radicals - Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too

I just repurchased this from BMG after getting rid of it a few years back. Realized I missed having it.

If you're interested, someone recently posted a video of the New Radicals performing live on The Tonight Show. As many people know, finding live performances of the New Radicals is incredibly difficult.

edit: msg me if you want a link to it. I forgot that we can't post public YSIs anymore.

I'll second all of Aimarr's recommendations especially Caetano Veloso "Bicho," and some recommendations of others - the Chains & Black Exhaust Compilation and Lhasa - the living road (my favorite album from last year)

Others you might look for:

Various Artists - El Congo, Rumba Congolese - its kind of like an african rumba version of Buena Vista Social Club with older stud musicians joining together with a core band to play old rumba classics. If you can't find it under El Congo, search for the Rumbanella Band which is the core band. Its a perfect summer album.

Louvin Brothers - Satan is Real
A classic country album and a huge influence on many of the early 70's country rock bands and artists, esp. Gram Parsons. Has more of a summer feel to me than most country due to the harmony vocals.

Mandrill - Fencewalk: the Anthology
Killer latin funk that I've really been enjoying lately

np: War - the Very Best of War
