Cash is a cushion, debt is a sword.

Loves me some leverage.

250K in "debt" between mortages and student loans. At least the car's all mine.

Thank you for the quotes. If you lose something (house, car) by not making payments, it's a secured loan. Technically, that's not debt.

My total: 4.6K, 3K is from what I owed uncle Sam this year + paying out for next year

I was brought up to spend what I had and nothing more. Obviously I was the only one.

The only reason I owe that £200 is because I got sacked about two weeks earlier than I thought I would!

How are those new higher ed fees working out for you, Darrin? Did the Scots escape? All the big unsecured numbers here are tuition loans, at a guess.

I didn't have any until law school. I figured I'd just dive in to the tune of (roughly) $180 grand.

Oh my god.

About $4k in student loans, and about $2k credit card (but only because I just bought a new bed and mattress- that stuff gets expensive if you want something that is good and will last...) Will hopefully have most of the credit card debt paid off within the year.

And, oops... speaking of debt... I haven't paid my rent yet. Good thing I have a cool landlord.

roughly 14k in student loans, but at a really low interest rate over ten years, so it's not so bad.

i was so happy when i started working full time and paid off my credit card debt. now i pay it off every month.

Just topped $300 K in student loans. Will work for about $8/hour for the next four years, after which I should pay it off in about 8-10 years.

Oh yeah, and the house, cars and occasional credit card.

What a fucking mess.
