omg, don't get the i-trip. i found that to be a waste of $40. i got the hardwired connection for my car instead... and let me tell you, it is the best thing ever.

the cable costs about $20, and you have to make sure your stereo has an output connection in the back and then they'll install it for you... then all you have to do is plug in the cable to the top of your i-pod and voila! the sound is so much better than the i-trip and you just make sure the setting on the stereo is on AUX. and you're set.

I got the iTrip. It works fine, and I will eventually get the hardwire thing (my stereo has the AUX feature---I just don't have time right now to leave my truck anywhere.
Also got the cable so I can hook it to my mixer for my tuesday night "Rock N Roll Bingo" gig. No more toting around my CD Changer. :D
I sprung for the $30 Monster Cable version because it will take abuse every week at a bar.

Also got this "Jam Jacket" Its a clear silicone/rubber jacket dealy---this thing is too new and feels fragile.

Is there some link to this product? This would be amazingly awesome. I'm going to look into seeing if my Pioneer radio has an output connection right now!

all you have to do is go to good guys or any other audio store and ask them about i-pod connection to your stereo... i just went to good guys & inquired about it, so i'd check w/the store you got your stereo at.

If you don't have an antenna on your car, the itrip has nothing to broadcast to...therefore, it won't really work...

Ipod update: The "lock" feature started just locking up whenever it damn well pleased (I think that Itrip may have something to do with this) so I exchanged my iPod today and got a new one. Luckily I hadnt loaded a ton of stuff (maybe 1,500 songs or so). All my shit is backed up on the external but still-----its a lot of dragging and dropping.

I'm chiming in here really late, but it depends on the model you have. Crutchfield would probably be able to tell you - that's where I bought my adapter (I have a Pioneer head in my car's system, too.) The adapter was $30, installing it took about 5 minutes.

If you're unlucky enough to have a stock deck in your car, you'll have to look into something like the adapters this site sells. It's not a very cheap solution, unfortunately.

All of this hassle could be prevented if auto manufactures just included a tiny 1/8" auxiliary input jack on the front of the stock decks. Why is this such a rarity?
