Was curious about whether you know anything about Judee Sill...I started a thread asking about her here which you probably missed cause it fell in the index faster than a bag of lead. Thought you might have discovered her before based on Andy Partridge's teenage girl-like fawning over her. If not you've never heard of her you might want to check out my earlier thread as I posted the full Partridge contribution to Uncut's piece on her.

How hideous a lump would I be if I got around to answering the first time I read the thread?

At first I thought, isn't this the woman PopTodd went on about sometime in the past? Then I remembered that was Margot Guryan, and I actually bought one of her albums--it's pretty good.

Then I thought, no, this is that other 30-years-past obscure chick who just recorded an EP with Animal Collective. Nope, that was Vashti Bunyan.

Then I read your other thread and remembered that I had read about her on the Rhino Handmade site and thought I'd be interested if only for the fact that I almost never mail order anything. But I'm definitely intrigued.

Always meant to check out Laura Nyro, too. Oh, and I'd like a million dollars. And a Fluffernutter, stat!

np: Nick Drake - Made to Love Magic (featuring production by Joe Boyd and arrangements by Robert Kirby, both of whom did the same thing for... Vashti Bunyan!)

okey dokey...thought you'd be interested given how much Partridge said XTC had been influenced by her albums. I'll be the guinea pig though, I've got both her albums on order and will post a review when I've digested them.

np: some lefty frizell song on random
