Anybody plan on seeing TC live this year? Or have you seen them perform before? They're playing in Portland next week, and the tickets are $25 each. Ouch. Just wondering if they're worth it.

a friend of mine went to the DC show and said that they brought a full band and singers and put on a better-than-anticipated show.

They're going to be at Austin City Limits this year so I have a chance to check them out. Not really my style of music but if there's no one else I HAVE to see when they're playing, I'll be there.

only $25? consider yourself lucky. i dropped $100 for a pair of tickets for me and my friend for his b-day present (about $45/ticket plus ticketbastard fees). i am going to see them on friday.

from what i've heard, they put a really good show live- and that was just from their dj sets. i anticipate this show is going to be an actual full band and all so i'm really curious to see how this will be. will review later.

Sounds like it would be worth $25 to me. I've seen very few electronic bands live, but I always like to check out how they pull things off on stage.

$25 for an electronic band live is actually pretty cheap, especially for thievery corp who's popular in the electronic scene. you don't even want to know how much royskopp/basement jaxx tickets are.... i think kraftwerk tix were like $60+.

I've seen Thievery Corp do a DJ set...not very exciting. Though, I would be interested in seeing 'em do a live set, just don't wanna pay that sorta cash for it.

I've heard mixed things about the Thiev live.

Electronic acts don't charge more or less compared to Rock acts. It depends on thier popularity & the venue just like Rock. $48 + service charges for good seats is a lot for Kraftwerk but that wouldn't even get you into a lot of Rock shows of acts from that era *coughrollingstonescough*

btw MBM @ HOB WeHo Mon Jun 13 $20

that's the day b4 Wilco & the Roots invade the Greek. I'm gonna try leftover vip tix the day of for that I'm not sure about MBM yet

I saw them play an old church in Atlanta a couple years ago and it was awesome. They had a shit-pot of guest vocalists and a big band playing a variety of instruments. The two main guys hung out behind their computers the whole time. The whole thing had a very worldly vibe and I thought it was outstanding. I can't imagine that it will translate well to a large outdoor venue though...

I saw them in Chicago a few years ago with a full band and it was an amazing show. They had 2 different female vocalists and the rasta pair roots and zee. Unfortunately Pam Bricker who did the vocals for Lebanese Blonde commited suicide earlier this year.

ok. so this show on fri was MUCH better than i anticipated. it was SO good. you would thinking that it would be mellow, but everyone was dancing and the whole crowd was going nuts. we got there early and managed to get in the pit so we were upfront and it was friken amazing.

full band. the dude who was playing the sitar was jamming and it was absolutely rockin. seven guest vocalists- 4 of the female ones featured on cosmic game, perry farrell (surprisingly, he was good), and 2 other mc's (i think one of them was zee? he had the crowd going wild). garza & hilton were behind the decks most of the time, while the band was jamming and the guest vocalists singing. played most of their songs from the cosmic game.

if you get the chance to see them on this tour, do it. :rawk:
