Yes.

"Fate's Right Hand" is solid country fare from a great songwriter who played on many Johnny Cash albums.

As much as I like my twang, I never could get into his stuff.

He charts on college AAA; that's the only reason I know of him. That should be enough for me to check him out, but it isn't. I suck that way sometimes.

I only have "The Houston Kid" but I like it a lot. He's kind of in the same vein as say, Guy Clark.

Yeah, I don't pull it out much. That album I mentioned doesn't have a whole lot of "twang" on it. He's more of a good storyteller.

Crowell has always been a good songwriter, but his career has always been stuck in pop/country crossover limbo. Because he's perpetually been on the verge of making it BIG he's unfortunately spent too much energy courting the Nashville establishment, and his albums are subsequently way too slick and glossy. It's too bad - he really had the talent to put out a classic.

Agreed- and that is the major distinction between him and the afore-mentioned Guy Clark (a hero for me).

Fate's Right Hand kicks ass. I like to call it a "Bill Clinton apologist anthem"

I like a song by him called "Earthbound." That's all I know.
