*breathe, just breathe*

T minus 2 days, 1 hour, and ten minutes. It's been that kind of week.

Slap bang in the middle of the week, Wednesday is always the worst, much more so than Monday.

It's when you want it to go faster because it sucks so much but you want it to go slower because all the shit you're supposed to have done 'by the end of the week, leave me alone already' hasn't even been started.

Bleh.

I just want a deskjob. I'm tired of schoolwork and bending sheet metal. Enough is enough!

In the words of Billy Madison "STAY HERE! STAY HERE AS LONG AS YOU CAN!"

I was thinking about what to do with myself today, and sort of realized that there ain't much I like to do. Lots of stuff I hate or am indifferent to, though.

I need it to be the weekend asap. I think I'm taking next week off (the 3 days up to Thanksgiving). I'm physically exhausted. Something is going to give if I don't.

The desk job allows me to do 3 things:

1) Be non-committal about an actual career. I tell myself I will find something better later but for now I can work here and pick up a paycheck with relatively little hassle.

2) Surf the net

3) Listen to music from the time I get here til the time I leave.

My Friday after work:

- The Incredibles
- Late night at a Latin club

Can't wait.

funny that you should make this a topic, Dri, as lately I've been feeling like I'm wishing my life away because work has been incredibly stressful.

To make a long story short, there is one manager in our Kirkland, WA office who is making my life (and everyone else he comes in contact with) a fucking living hell. This man has been with the company for a long time, and feels he is entitled to whatever bullshit request he has on any given day. The sad thing is, the higher-ups coddle this fucker, my boss has no spine, and everyone just bends over and takes it from this guy. He's such a disgusting, little man. I don't wish death on him, but good God, why can't the fucker just retire????

I was telling my husband the other day that if they paid me $100k a year to put up with his shit, I'd do it. But they don't. And as a result, I just get stressed out and difficult to be around at times. Not fun at all.

yeah, and my previous deskjob just scored me 22 weeks of doing nothing for a not untidy weekly stipend, if I so choose...and I still can't be bothered to "find something better later"

I enjoy the desk job....for now...

I'm glad I'm one day closer to the weekend... and one day closer to Bill Callahan...

Physical labour is where it's at.

If I could get paid the same wage to hit rocks with a sledgehammer I'd take it in a flash.

Try having a deskjob AND schoolwork. I think I just dug my own grave for Spring semester.... 4 classes! On top of working 40+ hrs/week. I can kiss my social life goodbye.

So, this morning, I'm driving to work...and totally spaced out, thinking I passed the street I'm supposed to make a left on. So I bust a bitch only to realize I haven't passed it yet. I just basically drove in a rectangle and waste 15 minutes driving around for nothing. :wtf:

And I kept thinking it was Friday, but then I realized it's only Thursday. Between stress at work, finals coming up, and other b.s. going on, I'm not having ANY of it. I'm so over it.

I had a job shoveling gravel once. It was all right, less strain than breaking rocks I would imagine. I had one cleaning old bricks for re-use, too. Why oh why did I ever leave?

one more hour until I go to the meeting with "The Foresters" who are this rich family we are designing a multimillion dollar home for. They are nice and all, but have a bazillion dollars. We were talking to a greenhouse sales rep yesterday because they want one and he told them $25-50K and they said those numbers don't shock us, it looks like we are going to do it.

I'm like holy fuck, you are spending $30K on a greenhouse? Can you build me a second bedroom?

But anyway, I can sit at the meeting and take notes and zone out until Friday which is probably when the meeting will be over. But at least i get paid overtime.

Dec. 6th- Final project: P.R. campaign, I'm the first presenter so I'm really nervous. The project is worth about 60% of my grade, and so I know what I'll be doing Thanksgiving weekend....

Dec. 7th- Another final.

Dec. 15th- Quiz, then a final AND a paper due.

I cannot wait for my vacation.

Every day is Saturday for the unemployed. But I'd trade places with any one of you and I'm sure we'd both be happy about it.

I put Friday, but that's just dumb. It's Saturday. Not Friday. Of course.
