A fantastic funky party -- supposedly spun live by radio DJ Big Moe at a Memphis club in the early 70s, but sounding here like a funky mixtape from the current underground! Big Moe's certainly got a great ear for a groove -- and the set here has a crackling, raw, and soulful energy that really transports us back to the Memphis scene of the time -- whether or not that's when the mix was actually recorded! The package contains 23 tracks in all -- all presented in relatively discreet format, so that you don't know the artist or the titles from the notes. But you can take our word for it that the set's a great one -- a collection that we'd rank right up there with the best deep funk compilations we've stocked!
