can I make animated gifs smaller while still making them 'animated'?

I use ImageReady, but it's expensive unless you pirate it.

i use paint shop pro's animation studio, but i don't think that it's free either.

Or, if it's a one-time thing, you can just post it here, and see if someone will do it for you for free. We've got a couple of graphics artists types on this board.

But then again, graphics artists types are typically very busy, so don't be surprised if no-one volunteers.
